Forehead and Brow (Temporal) Lift
On the forehead, there are transverse lines whose depth varies from person to person. Between the eyebrows, these lines become vertical. The forehead skin, like the facial skin, begins to loosen, sag and parallel to the progression of the age, and the existing lines deepen. Over time, the eyebrows go down and a tired-looking facial expression appears.
A more permanent technique to lift the edges of the eyebrows and to reduce clumps on the edge of the eye is the temporal lift. This method is performed through a short incision made through the scalp. Forehead skin relaxation, horizontal forehead wrinkles increased, the level of eyebrows down and eyebrow-eye distance narrowed forehead stretching operations can be done. The forehead stretching is often performed through short incisions through the hair and with the help of an endoscope (camera). All forehead, eyebrows and eye edges are peeled from under the periosteum. This procedure is called subperiosteal endoscopic forehead stretching. After peeling, the head bones are fixed. If deemed necessary during endoscopic forehead stretching, the muscles that cause us not to frown are cut off and frowning can be stopped permanently.
These procedures are generally applied to male and female patients over the age of 40 who have no other health problems. Early period after surgery usually passes on at ease. There may be general swelling and bruising on the forehead and around the eyes. There may be numbness and a feeling of tension. They resolve spontaneously within 2 weeks. The dressing opens after 2 days. Sutures are taken after 5-7 days. The new shape given to the forehead and eyebrows will be affected due to gravity and sometimes lasts for 5-10 years and sometimes for lifetime
