Clostridium botulinum is a bacterial toxin produced from bacteria. This toxin acts on the muscle-nerve junction, creating a temporary paralysis of the muscles. Brands such as Botox, Dysport, Vistabel, Neurobloc, which contain Botulinum Toxin, are available on the market. Botulinum toxin is a temporary paralysis in the muscles to which it is applied. It does not affect the whole muscle, but affects muscle tissue 1-2 cm around the point where it is made. When applied to facial mimic muscles, this weakens the movement of muscles and prevents the deepening of the mimic line caused by the muscles.

There is no loss of expression after the correct practices. The aim of Botulinum Toxin application is not to make the face expressionless, but to soften the facial expressions and give the face a natural and beautiful shape. Eliminates deep wrinkles, alleviates deep wrinkles and also prevents deepening of all wrinkles. Botulinum Toxin applications are repeated every 4-6 months. As the number of applications increases, the interval may increase. Over time certain facial expressions are forgotten and the same effects can be achieved with lower doses. Botulinum Toxin does not have a systemic effect when used in esthetic doses and is therefore a very reliable method.

Botulium Toxin Application areas;

Edges of the eye: Reduces wrinkles called crow's feet, lifts the edges of the eyebrows, reduces the collapse of the upper eyelids.

Between eyebrows: Stops or weakens frown. Reduces vertical heat lines between eyebrows.

Forehead: Stops eyebrow movements and reduces horizontal wrinkles on forehead.

Lip edges: Reduces vertical wrinkles around the lips (cigarette lines)..

Lip corners: When made to certain points on the lower lip, it makes the lip corners turn up slightly, and the sadness lines that go down from the corners of the lip lighten.

Nose tip: It makes the nose tip slightly lift when it is made between full nose and upper lip.

Rabbit lines on the nose: Reduces lines on the back and edges of the nose, especially when we laugh.

Jaw tip: Reduces wrinkles and dimples on the jaw tip.

Jaw edges: It increases the facial skin stacked on the jawbone and reduces the pile.

Neck: Provides the disappearance or reduction of vertical bands on the neck, which lead to the appearance of turkey's neck.

Botulinum Toxin is made under the conditions of the practice. Application is done with very fine needles and does not cause much pain. Cold application before and after the procedure reduces pain. The process takes several minutes. Bruises may occur for several days at the application sites. The first days after the application may be a temporary headache. One of the important side effects of Botulinum Toxin is the low eyelid formation. If Botulinum Toxin is made too close to the eyelid, the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid is affected and the lid drops. If this occurs, the patient should use an eye drop until the effect of Botulinum Toxin has passed.
