Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
Sagging and loosening of the arms is one of the common problems in middle-aged women. This problem, which is also seen in losing and gaining excess weight, becomes even more remarkable when wearing sleeveless clothes in summer months. Arm stretching can be performed on patients who are very uncomfortable with loosening and sagging of their arms.
Arm stretching is a surgical procedure aimed at relieving loosening and skin excess on the elbow, especially in women. The purpose of surgery is not only to thin the arm, but also to make it more tense.
Arm stretching operations are generally performed for women over 40 years of age. The looseness on the elbow increases especially after weight gain. Some skin types tend to loose.
In such patients, the problem may occur at an earlier age. An “L” cut is made starting from the armpit and descending to the elbow. In general, only the skin is removed and the tension of the arm is increased.
Liposuction may also be added to patients with very thick arms. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia under operating room conditions. There is a three week limitation of movement in the arms after surgery. After the third week, movements of the arm begin. After the sixth week, all activities are free.
